A few people have asked to see photos of my other toy. This is the latest car i have built for Auto-X racing. Most of the photos here were taken before it was completly torn apart to install the complete rol cage along with a 6.0L (LS1 based) motor. When it is done next year should be a complete different car.

What We started with was a $2500 car.

Looks good. I get my corvette racing car fix over at Phoenix Performance since they are less than 2 miles from me.

I'm "JRD77VET" over on Corvette Forum and have a '77 Corvette, 350 4 speed

Wow great work on breathing new life into a clapped but straight C4 ?
Every aspect of the car looks really good, I wonder does all that high tech digital stuff still work ?

Congrats on the new mill, got to be the best Chevy V8 ever.

I have dial-up, so I didn't see the video of the dyno run. Mind if I ask how much horsepower and what the top speed is?
Neat car, for sure. Enjoyed the pics. I especially liked the before/after pics.

BTW, I noticed you had an automatic transmission in the car. I would have thought a race car would have had a manual transmission. (keeping in mind I know nothing about race cars:redface:)
Is there an advantage to having an automatic vs. the manual?

Nice job on the car I would have bought it for the motor and drive train. They would really give my old firebird new life4188_1136065450739_1500424835_30346659_2277857_n[1].jpg

my buddy bought a 68 bird, similar to the one in your pic.

to the OP, Cool vette, I always liked those bodystyles the best for a corvette. i think its the taillights i like so much. theres a pic of a corvette boat somewhere with the taillights in it too.

Yea all that ATARI dash still worked (until I removed it all this winter) however I never paid any attention to it. I had a tach and that was all I watched.

The car made right at 300HP and 350TQ at the wheels on that pull. I had the timing really retarded do to pump gas. When I built the motor I was looking for 300 at the wheels. The car was a Auto when i bought it and it seem to work ok. With the motor swap this year I will be going with a 6 speed manual. The manual is by far a better choice do to the engine breaking you have with the manual over the automatic.

Re: PICS of the Corvette (my other hobby)

Is this an autoX car? Looks good, I've done lots of autoX and drag racing until I moved remote. My auto cross car was a Dodge Neon with an engine swap running individual throttlebody setup, 260hp, with full Koni adjustable suspension at 1.02g's on the skid pad. Drag car was a 1957 VW beetle stroked big bore 2500cc's Pauter machine built with draw through turbo and 4 barrel carb, running 12lbs of boost. 330hp on a 1250lb car ran 11.20's with traction problems. That vette should be a pretty strong contender, they really handle when set up well, and the 300 hp should help. Are you running against different types of cars, or is this a Corvette event? Lots of interest in your area? I miss my cars and racing but I'm glad to be away from the rat race, traffic, crime, ghetto people, etc. Keep us updated on your racing season, and have fun!!! AA

auto-x is kind of fun, I ran a turbo miata for awhile, I wasn't ever very good at it, guess I lost interest.
