Hey guys I have started the process of designing and building a swim deck that runs the full length of the transom for my 77' Sea Ray srv-187. I've got the design down including the brackets I'll be using. I'm using my existing brackets from my old small platform to go on the outside, then making thgee middle two supports out of SS tubing. My question is what type of wood should I go with? here's my parameters; I'm on a low budget so teak is not an option, my local supplier is home depot or lowes. I know they have pines, prime weather shield, ceder, red oak..... I want this to look nice and to hold up for atleast a few seasons. I plan on sanding, staining, and sealing whichever type of wood I chose to use. Basically I want this platform to look nice and still hold up. So type of wood should I use?
Thanks for the help,
Jim
He's my plans I've drawn up, the planks will be 1x4's
