Picked this Mercury up at an auction.
I can't find the model number plate/ sticker just the serial #
It says OIL Injected on the Tin bottom part of the cover .
I have looked it all over and don't see any where to put oil.
Could it be someone changed out the cover? Or Am I blind?

It is a 1988. If it is oil injected I believe that model used a seperate tank for the oil.

That engine came with a "Autoblend " unit and should beinside boat if still installed, just follow fuel line from tank to engine. If its been removed mix you fuel 50:1, if its still installed "trash it"

Thanks Guys .
No I didn't get the boat just this motor and a vintage Johnson 20.
SO it had a blending unit In the boat ,, don't like the sounds of that idea very much. And They called it "OIL Injected" !

Could you go into a little more detail on whats involved in "trashing" the autoblend? Dose it also act as the fuel pump? I just got a boat that has some water damage and the autoblend tank was under water... Thanks
