Rip out the carpet and see what is under it. You will probably have a ton of glue residue which will have to be removed using an angle grinder with a cup brush.

You could also remove the old adhesive with a chemical stripper. Find one that
is safe for plywood and work small areas at a time. If you use a volatile stripper,
be mindful of the fumes. My old neighbor blew up his kitchen by spreading too
much mastic stripper on the floor at once. He failed to turn off the pilot light
on the water heater. Be aware of ignition sources. The fumes can also go to your head. Ventilation and a respirator are recommended, especially down inside the hull. You might start with a heat gun and scraper, then chemical stripper if necessary. Once all the adhesive is removed you can repair or replace any bad plywood. There are a lot of posts on "floor repair" on this site,
read up on the subject. Many a can of worms has been opened during this process. If the wood is sound, fair it out and glass it. There are also a lot of
posts here on that process. Read up on this before you start expending materials and labor. Good luck,GH
