Hi All.

With this being my first post I thought I would start with what we are restoring. Two years ago (this July) we bought the Aqua Hero. It is a 1988 Shamrock hardtop with a inboard 6bta 210 hp Cummins diesel. It has a kell hull design. It is a full kell that extends beyond the prop which helps protect it. Even though she ran well enough for us to take her out on a sea trial run we decided to go through it from bow to stern. Here is a list of some of the things we have accomplished.

Replaced rub rail
Rebuilt Turbo
Upgraded to braided steel turbo oil line
Installed new fuel lines
Upgraded to racor fuel filters
Installed fuel flow meter
Rebuilt Transmission
Installed new tranny mounts
Upgraded flex plate (Suredrive)
Rebuilt Transmission Cooler
Replaced all hoses
Upgraded to solid Stainless hose clamps
Replaced Thermostat
Replaced Starter
Replaced wiring bow to stern with tinned wire
Installed LED lighting (running lights, deck lights, anchor light and rear spotlights)
Replace all glass fuses with sealed mini fuses/box
Upgrade to sealed switches
Installed breakers for downriggers & crab pot puller
New dash panel
New dash panel cover
New switch plate labeling
Installed new VHF
Installed new digital antennas & mounts
refinished 90% of teak (still need to finish in cuddy)
Installed new engine vent tubing
Installed back-up hi-flow billge pump
repaired main bilge pump
reconditioned shaft
reconditioned prop
aligned shaft
repacked shaft
repacked rudder
Polished rudder & trim tabs
replaced raw water intake valve
installed new zincs
Drained and inspected fuel tanks
Re-sealed decking
Serviced kicker
new impeller for kicker
Kicker steering cable
Trailer brakes
New trailer tires (4)
New trailer spares (2)
Installed trailer plug keeper
Serviced trailer brakes
Serviced trailer bearings
Upgraded trailer rollers
Repaired trailer bunk
New trailer lights & wiring

We are now in the middle of upgrading the electronics. We are istalling H/D radar, C90W Raymarine chart ploter, DSm300 sounder with a 1000 watt transducer.

Her is a few pics of her.

Andy.

Hi Terry. We enjoy off shore fishing. Salmon, halibut, and mostly albacore tuna. This requires going off shore sometimes 50 or 60 miles. Although we have not taken this boat out that far yet, it is what we are rebuilding her for. With the diesel inboard she does well on fuel. At the prices these days it all helps. We just got the drive train all ship shape and took her out for her first (to use) bar crossing. We went out for some near shore halibut fishing. No fish but the boat ran great. I'm at work now but when I'm back home I will post some more picks.

Andy.
