I had a dumb question on a force 85.
Would the center fin on the bottom of the gear case keep me from reaching plane when throttling up if it's bent from a hit on the lake?

I replaced the prop,so good to go there.
Thanks,
Scotty

Re: Gear case fin bent

I would think that the only possible way it could prevent it from getting on plane would be if it was bent in a way that created turbulence in front of the prop. If it's bent to one side, it probably won't hurt a thing.

You said you replaced the propeller. Is the replacement propeller the same diameter and pitch as the original?

Sounds to me like you have a bent prop shaft or even your forward gear might be missing a few teeth.
