Hello, I've been a fan of this site for a few months now & gotta say I'm extremely impressed with all the dedication put in to resto these aluminum beauties! I've been a Starcraft fan for as long as I can remember, being as my Grandfather & Dad supplied me with all my fishing memories onbard a Starcraft. I've been searching for one to call my own for about a year & a half & finally got her. She's an '81 SuperSport, 18 ft'er with a 120 hp i/o Merc thats got 430 hrs on it. The boat's all original & came with the same year Shorelander trailer. I got it for $2200 & couldn't be happier with it. I haven't been able to get her out on the water yet (work, weather), but I can't wait to supply my kids with some great memories out on the water for them to have. Keep up the great work!

Looks great! Welcome to the club. I just joined a week ago with my SS 16'. Yours looks even better than mine does, I really like the 18' models, but I just don't have that much more room.

Re: My SuperSport

That 16's a good looking boat, also. I just missed picking one up in my area a few months ago. This thing looked like it just came off the showroom floor, all original, original owner with a 70 hp Merc o.b & trailer for $1200. It sold to the 1st guy, I was the 2nd. That took a few days to get over! It all worked out in the end seeing as I got mine. Good luck with yours, you'll enjoy it!

Great looking rig! Welcome to the Starcraft insane asylum, oops I mean club. ;). I just scored the exact same steering wheel you have for my own project.

Re: My SuperSport

Thanks Starcraft. None to the boat, immediately, but I'm gonna dress up the trailer: paint, winch line, repair some lights, that sort of thing. Oh yeah, I'm gonna throw on a kicker motor, but that's it for the short term.

Re: My SuperSport

Thanks alot! It's only a 2 owner boat & the 2nd owner had it from '84 to present, so I got lucky that she was cared for. It still has the original mooring cover & bow cover, also. I also got all the original paperwork & manuals for the boat, motor & trailer. The bow cover is pristine, the mooring cover will probably be retired after this year, though. I'm glad I went with the 18', just that little extra room makes the difference.

Re: My SuperSport

bigski, I believe the aluminum pieces your talking about are for the factory mooring cover. Mine have them & they mount onto spring clips on the factory cover. As far as the bow cover, they have snaps running along the gunwale on port & starboard sides, with swivel tabs running along the base of the windshield. I can post some pics tomorrow.
