I have a 1993 Mercury 60 HP motor OD210686, after I start the motor, and a few minutes delay I get the buzzer on continuously, It is the same buzzer you hear when you 1st turn the key. I am able to turn the key half way back to the off position, and the buzzer will stay off. I initially thought that it was the switch, but another boater, says that mercury has alarm features that warn you of things like high temperature or low water pressure.

Can anyone send me in the right direction, is this something to be immediately corcerned about?

Thanks,
Virgil

It's the overheat or oil alert alarm. In either case, the reason there is an alarm is that you should be alarmed. If you've run it like that much at all, you've likely done major damage to the power head.

Sorry, but you should know the basic operation of your engine BEFORE you run it.
