Thinking about buying a 31ft Mainship. It is an aluminum boat. Had 1 inboard motor in it, but would like to add 2 outboard motors to it. I would use the boat for fishing the gulf of mexico for Snapper.

Any suggestions?

asking price is $5,000. no trailer, no motor, inside almost completely gutted, no floors, controls. It does have 2 small leaks - more like pin holes, not cracks.

I would rather Ginger and Maryann on the boat.

Never knew Mainship built one like that.

$5000 for a gutted hull seems steep, but if it's what you want, the money might not be an issue. I'm also unsure how hard finding Aluminum 31'ers is, and he might have the market at his fingertips due to this.

I agree, $5000 for a gutted boat with not motor might be a bit steep, buuut that is a massive hull and probably is pretty rare. I think it would be a blast to restore and it's already gutted, that's half the battle! If you have the means for a big restore I say go for it, but expect a pretty expensive job. If you do buy her, make sure to post millions of pictures during the restore.... It will be a VERY popular thread!

I like it. Looks like a gunship.

If the hull is sound go for it. How was she setup for power before. Any pics of the interior.

Ideal set up for twins on an offset jack plate...painted the color of your choice, new interior&seats, soft spot for the ladies in the cuddy, cold beverages and Ginger and MaryAnn with you on the flying bridge...go for it.
