I am working on a friends 2006 31' Chaparral that is having an issue with the starboard engine.
Engine does not rev up fully and seems to be in guardian mode. Definitely something electrical here, starts, idles just fine. Plenty of water is going thru to risers and temps are just fine. She has new oil, coolant, impellers.
I scanned it with the Rinda handheld tool and received two fault codes.

Fault 110 shift switch (active)

Fault 210 neutral overspeed (inactive)

What do these codes mean?

Thanks in advance.

Both codes point to a bad shift switch.
I am now trying to find out where the shift switch is located as it may be bad. So, I want to change it out with the port engine to test.

Re: 2006 350 Horizon port engine to gauge (out of sync)

Re: 2006 350 Horizon port engine to gauge (out of sync)

Switched with port and nothinng changed, still had problem and guardian mode. Went back and adjusted it down so that there was more "throw" on the switch plunger and that fixed my problem. Both engines running well now and revving up the way they should.

But, I now have a new prob. The port engine's tachometer is not in sync with the port engine. I ran the engine with scan tool hooked up and when engine is at idle, about 550 rpms, the gauge reads like 1500 rpms. At engine rpm around 3500, the gauge is past 6000 rpms. The gauge is reading double of what the engine is doing.
