1999 120 force timing

I have a shop manual that goes up to 1998. The instructions will not work on my engine.The manual has 30 btdc @ 5000 rpms.Is it safe to run a 1999 force 120 at that setting?I burned a piston on a 6 cyl inline mercury because i had too much advance.

My manual covers 1999 and says for 90hp and 120hp 1996-1999: 30? BTDC for the test wheel or 32? BTDC if you are cranking it over.

The RPM operating range is 4750 - 5250 rpm

Thanks , It runs good on the trailer. I'll take it out to the lake and try it.
