My shifter is stuck in forward, wont go into neutral and therefore unable to start motor, unable to shift into neutral or reverse, it goes to the neutral setting but I dont hear the click and the key wont work, what gives? thanks in advance. The motor was running and shifting fine, when I was going to pull the boat onto the trailer the shifter kinda got stuck and I forced it, now its stuck.

Just a thought for you. Evinrude documentation and sources are plentiful on the internet. Try this site. You can find literature about each part.

http://www.pdfgeni.com/book/Evinrude-115-pdf.html

If you can't find it there, I have a question for you. Does your throttle have a lever for the gearing below the throttle handle? If so, then I you probably need to fix the lever.

If not, I believe its a cable issue. Those things go back and forth so many times in a lifetime, they may come loose or tighten till they tweak and break.

Evenrude also has a site dedicated to its past. Google Evenrude literature.

Welcome to iboats! But I agree it sounds like its in your cable or shifter itself.

Disconnect shift cable at motor and try to shift (while spinning prop) manually. If you can, the problem is with the cable and/or the control unit.
