We just replaced the trim motor on my husbands 1986 Bayliner Bass Boat. When my husband was putting it back on, he cracked the area where the oil line screws into it. The motor is still good, but we need a new reservoir part which is part number F17505. They don't sell this part seperate. They just sell Arco 6216 which is the whole thing and costs around $200. We just spent $100 getting the motor replaced. Does anyone have any advice or thoughts on what we could do? Is there anywhere you can find used boat parts like this? I found one reservoir for $110, but I just think if I can find one used somwhere, it might be cheaper.

Thanks to anyone who can help us figure out something to do.

Try eBay or Craigs List.

The chinese motors are well enough built and inexpensive enough that I won't rebuild any more 3w unless they have clean innards. Which is to say that I have an ample supply of F17505 reservoirs. I'm just not sure that it is what you need. They don't make motors to fit that reservoir anymore. If you just put on a new motor then it probably has too long of a shaft to work with that reservoir. can you post or pm me a picture?
