My 1995 Force engine (after winter storage) has low power and rough running while trying to plane out and missing while running WOT, not getting to full rpm. I pulled and rebuilt carbs and replaced plugs, still same result. Checked plugs #'s 1 & 2 black ends and firing, #'s 3 & 4 clean like new. Checked spark and all coils are firing. pulled plug wires while running #1 makes rough idle, #2 same result, however #3 no change in how engine idles and #4 same result. Engine idles same without #3 & #4, both carbs spraying gas upon reving. Getting gas, new plugs firing, can't get miss out or hp up to snuff. can you help before I take it to a dealer?

First do a compression test then a spark test. Then check the fuel pump diaphram then the reed valves.Post your results.J

Ok, Compression up to 155 in each cyl. Switched coil positions, good spark on all cyl's. Still #1 & #2 carry all the power load and #3 & #4 do nothing. Pulling the plug wires off of 3 & 4 have no effect while at idle, pull 1 or 2 and the engine just about dies.

Check your wiring. I had that prob a while ago...loose cd wire was causing cylinder to not fire.

I've got an older 1989 force 125 hp and had problem with no fire in #3 cylinder. I used a timing light on all plug wires to find it didn't fire under load. I traced it down to CDI ignition pack being bad. I suppose it could have been trigger or loose wire but for me it was the ignition pack and now it screams. Fortunately I have another force 125 in my garage taken apart so I was able to use ignition pack from that motor. Otherwise they cost $200+ for a new one. I hope yours is just a loose wire.
