I must have overtightened my AQ130D mechanical fuel pump and I have cracked the plastic spacer...

Is there a reason I cannot make my own spacer out of aluminium and then just use cork/rubber gaskets to seal it up ? the spacer is about 3/8 of an inch and it would be easy for me to make a spacer to match the plasic one.

If plastic is a must, where can I find one ? All I am able to locate is the fuel pump gasket.. Is this the seals and spacer all in one ?

Thanks

Ayuh,... My Guess is they use plastic to stop Heat migration to the fuel....

If you have the resourses to create an aluminum 1,....
Why not just start out with a piece of Plastic,+ machine That....

I figure it would be easier to find aluminum that it would be to find plasitc that would stand up to the heat ..
I would be able to machine an aluminum fairy easy ...

Aluminum would also be hard for me to crack :)
