What year is my mariner?

I am now the owner of a made in Japan, 60 hp mariner s# 675 S 000104, can anyone one tell me the year? All the charts I have looked at the s doesn't show. The next problem is I started it with the key ignition - no problems, but then it wouldn't turn off and I removed the fuel line. Now it wont even turn over using the key. The starter motor works and the engine will start 'jumping' it at the started motor. I am hoping the only problem will be the ignition switch. Any ideas.

thanks. Can you tell me if there is a sensor attached to the gear shift to stop the engine being started when in gear? I knocked the gear shift and the engine started by the key.
