I am installing my alpha One Gen One and I cant get the rubber gasket for the raw water intake passage between the upper unit and the bell houssing to stay in place as I slide the drive on.

Does anyone have a handy trick that will keep it in place and not compromise the seal?

I have read through the manual to see if I am missing something but it dosnt give any info on how snugg the o-ring should fit into the indentation for it. It sits in it fine but any movement and it falls. I thought about a dab of seal greas to hold in place but the manual says to only coat the threads and studs, not any of the gaskets.

I had to give up on it today cause of weather but will be hitting it in the morning. I just keep getting nerv that it isnt in place and will allow a water leak.

Thanks!

try a little grease on it, it will stay put for you to do the install. It will not harm the rubber O ring.

I used a thin coat of bellows adhesive.
