I have a '85 Bayliner with a Force 125. The buzzer is missing and some of the wires have been redone. Well as I tried to follow the wires from the outboard to the buzzer they have been cut and missing parts of the wires. All the other gauges are working.

Question is : Can I just put in a temperature gauge and run the wire right to the sensor? Will any one for a car work with it to know what temp the outboard is running at?

Then what temp should the force 125 be running at?
Thanks!

No, it will not work with a gauge.

THe temp sensor on the motor head is only an on/off switch.
It is normally off.
It gets too hot, it switches on and powers the buzzer.

Either replace the buzzer and wire, or buy a water pressure gauge kit.
