I wanted an anchor cleat centered on my bow so the pontoon would track straight downwind, but that's where the front gate is. I got a square 'u' bolt (the kind that mounts things to trailers). I drilled two holes through the deck and the forward cross beam; then cut away the carpet between the holes. The 'u' bolt dropped through with lock nuts, and now I have a cleat that nobody will trip over. When I anchor, I just lift the cleat, and tie off.

Re: Anchor cleat

That sounds great. Can you attach a picture of it top and bottom?

I don't agree. I thought PGFishers' description was very clear.

Re: Anchor cleat

I think this is a great idea! I tie off to the loop on front of the pontoon, for the same reason. But your idea has me rethinking my situation. Thanks for sharing.
