charging dual purpose battery

i recently bought a dual purpose batt. from bass pro shop. used the battery working on motor. cranked it quite a bit but has also started and ran for times (think mercury 84' 35 hp has alt? not sure) took boat out yesterday and used 37lb motorguide for a few hours. do i need to charge? have a reg battery charger but do i need a marine battery charger? was looking at minn kota from bass pro for 80-90 bucks do i need it?

Welcome to iboats!

Yes any charger will work. Personally I would have one battery dedicated to only starting the boat, and the other for trolling motor, lights, bilge pump ect. This way you can still start your boat if you've been using the TM all day.

Have had this for close to 20 years wasn't expensive but have used it to charge Deep cycle, motorcycle and car batteries

Just charged 2 batteries on my boat yesterday

Best money I have spent

The motor charger isn't enough to keep your battery at peak, should have your battery on some kind of trickle when you are not using it

The 2 batteries on my boat were not charged for almost a year
