You Know The Saying "trailer is worth what you paid for the boat"... **UPDATE**

Some of you may remember the trouble I was having with a local dealer with a 2006 MasterCraft trailer that I purchased along with a SeaRay boat.

http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=367302

Believe it or not, but this just got settled last week. After hiring an attorney to battle his attorney (mine was free=Cousin) Letter after letter was sent and they would wait till the very last day of the deadline to respond to each letter. When out of the blue I got a call from their attorney. He said that if I would cut up the trailer and send them the VIN tag that they would give me 500 dollars back for the trailer and drop all of their fees. I called my cousin and she immediately contacted them to confirm the deal. There were no strings attached. They just wanted the trailer destroyed and they wanted the VIN tag. Well the trailer got cut up and I got my money back.

Heres the start of me cutting it up:

I used the money to purchase a used Loadrite galvanized trailer. I should be on the water soon. I have done allot of work to th boat including rebuilt engine and partial floor replacement. I will post those in the restoration forum later.

Good for you....you deserve it.

Call me a pessimist, but I hope they are honest enough to then destroy the VIN tag as well. Around here, tags with paperwork are worth money because some unscrupulous people are then able to register a stolen trailer with somebody else's VIN.

The way I understood the deal was that MasterCraft are the ones that wanted the VIN tag and the trailer destroyed. But who knows, I'm just happy its over.

PS

I got 175 bucks from the scrap yard I took it to. the aluminum rims alone brought in some nice coin. Im using the cash to buy my cousin a real nice Christmas gift this year:D

Cutting that up would have been easy with my plasma cutter.

Thats what I used to cut it up. I love plasma cutters, cut it up into nice manageable pieces.

WOW, I just skimmed through it all. What a mess. I had a similar situation with mine when I got it. We got lucky too. I am starting a thread, even though it was a while ago, its worth mentioning.
