Can anybody tell me why the number two and four pistons are pitted?

I was told that I could use any piston ring as long as it is the same size, is this true or do I have to buy Force piston rings. Can I use standard rings or do I have to have a shop bore these out?

My number 3 had 122 # compression, should I do anything with this one?

I am looking for the least expensive route. Two more summers and I would like to get a newer boat.

Most importantly, can I use JB weld the chip on the number two piston sleeve jacket? If I do, how long will it last, or is there a way to repair this another way?

Here is my #2 piston

Here is my number 4 and head gasket.

Though I mentioned I want to go the least expensive way, I still want to do it right.

i would think you will have to get the rings from Mercury for the force seeing as they look to be a L ring on the top, hone the cylinders and you may get away with the puddy on the brake, but make sure its at the same height as the sleeve.
the damage was probally cause by dirty carbs[lean] or improperly adjusted carbs[lean] or to much timing
of coars this isnt the proper whay to do it and how do the cylinders look, are they scored

They dont seem to be scored, my fingernail does not catch on any of them. You can feel ridges but they are small. Should I use a ball hone or one with the three legs on it?
