I need some help with my problem. I have an Evinrude 90HP '99 FICHT with a fuel problem. First the problem was not enough fuel at all RPM, this problem was located in the fueltank, because the hose inside the tank was too short there wasn't enought fuel coming to the engine.
This problem is solved by installing a longer hose inside the tank and mounting the tank in a different position. Also the engine was not running smooth at neutral gear, the dealer replaced a "pressure valve" of the fuel system.
Now I have a new problem:
The tank is lying upside down so I'm sure this is not the problem but at full throttle there is not going enough fuel to the engine. As we go full throttle and somebody is sqeezing in the "ball" in de fuel hose the engine runs at 6500 rpm if not it only does 4000-4500 rpm.
Does anyone know what the problem might be? If have the EvDiagnostic software, still waiting for the connectioncable? Maybe someone can tell where to look at with this software?
I really hope it's not the fuelpump as this is an expensive part.
Thanks in advance
(sorry for my bad english, I'm from Holland ;-)
