3.0 Mercruiser Head Help

Can someone identify this : I circled a hole on this picture and am hoping i can get some feedback as to what it is and what needs to be there. Really need some help ...thanks Im fairly positive its not a head bolt.

On mine (1986 Mercruiser GM 3.0L on my Doral) it's just an empty threaded hole.

There are often extra holes and mounting points on engines for various options or alternative set-ups etc.

I dont remember anything being there ..hopefully I can have a few others verify just to make sure.

MT hole on my 3.0 litre as well.

sorry im not sure what MT means -is that short for empty?
