Hi,
I'm having problems getting my 50 hp 1988 force 5078XC to tilt up, and I think I'm missing the part. Can anyone tell me how this engine (without a trim engine) is supposed to stay in the up position? Sorry for the dumb question, new to boats

Re: getting my 50 hp force to tilt up

No ideas on this? I was thinking of mickey mousing something to keep the outboard up while in transit, any suggestions?

Could someone take a picture of how their 507X8C (or similar) stays in the up position? I don't know the name of the part I'm looking for.

Thanks! Adam

How about a Transom saver?

I have a 1990 50Hp and this is what mine looks like. It has a silver tab that holds it down and up and then the grey bar that holds it up for trans port.

Buzz, i think we posted simultaneously...definitely interested in the transom saver, what type is that? Any issues with installation?

Jeremy, thanks for the photos...just purchased the trailering bracket, the pics will be extremely helpful for the installation.

Would you guys suggest both the transom saver and the bracket as a belts & suspenders?

Thanks! Adam

I dont know about the transom saver.

This is a photo Pulled from google images. I'm almost done with my boat so I'll be needing one soon.

My brother has one on his bass Tracker. Said he wouldn't travel without one.

The universal ones are simple to install. Bolts to the rear part of the trailer, Then the saver is simply pined into place and you prop your motor up.. Bunge it around and drive.

Have you thought of installing a power tilt unit on it?

I'd love to, but just put in a bunch o' money, so I don't have the cash at this time...maybe next year, unless there is a cheaper way to than $200.
