Hi to all,
Well im sorry to all that i must ask this question. Ive been getting mixed answers about the gas mixture of my 1965 Johnson 18 hp fd 19. The most people say 50:1 but Ive heard 40:1 because the bearings need a little more lube. I am using tcw 3 oil. Also would this be the same for my 9.5 Evinride sportwin?
Again sorry I know you guys get annoyed with these questions but i better be safe then sorry.
Thanks,
Cheers

It is 50:1. A lot of people like to use more, that is their choice. But 50:1 is just fine. There are no plain bearings in that motor. Everything is rollers.

Agree with the others. The factory manual at that time was quite specific, click the thumbnail, please.

Thanks to everyone for the help. I figure 50:1 was correct but just wanted to make sure. It smokes a lot at idle even after a hard treatment of seafoam.
