Wamt to change to electronic ignition having trouble with points every season start-up. I am being told no conversion for 400 Stringer Outdrive because of shift assist(1985 Larson). Is there a product and where can it be purchased?
Contact Michiganmotorz.com. They have a Coast guard approved conversion for about 200 bucks that is supposed to be the 'Gold Standard'. They will explain any concerns you may have over the phone.
Not familar with the above setup, but in any case the shift assist can be dealt with without much effort, and the benefits of electronic ignition well worth it.
