I've ran into a few since i got my boat about 6 months ago. One it was dead when i got and after rebuilding the whole water system, carb, and some electrical the boat was running.... Ok that is, what was happening was it would bog down after about 2 or 3 clicks on the throttle and try to die. So I figured timing, when i went to adjust the distributor it was salt water seized to the block. I break the distributor loose now it moves again, put the cap back on.... It wasn't aligned right and when i started to screw down the other side it snapped. Not thinking about it I took the old cap off, took it to the shop and ordered another one and when it came in went to put it on and Damn!!! can't remember where the plug wires go. I thought i did and when i go to start it it'll give 3 good cranks and stall for a second or two and give 3 or 4 more and stall out again. Does anyone have a overhead picture of a AQ125A showing all the plug wires or knows where these guys go on the cap? If you do please let me know because its probly pretty simple and quick but i just cant get the right combo. Thanks

The firing order is 1-3-4-2.
The rotation of the rotor is clockwise.
Since the distributor can be put in on any tooth of the gear, you have to check to find out where #1 TDC on the Compression stroke is.
Easiest way to do that is to remove all the spark plugs, put your compression tester hose in #1 cylinder, then turn the engine by hand while holding your thumb over the hose end, turn the engine until you fell compression building. Then watch your timing marks while slowly turning till the mark on the pulley lines up with the timing mark.
Then look at where the rotor points. That is #1 TDC on the compression stroke.

Well it cranks over narmal again.... But still no start, there is a gray wire with a red stripe coming from the coil goin behind the console but it was plugged in. Do you know where this would connect up to?

The grey wire is usually the Tach wire. It goes on the - side of the coil.

I went down to my boat after work and checked it out. The gray w/red stripe wire from the coil to tach is connected together. There is an identical gray w/red stripe wire there also but not going to anything, do you know it this one might go to?

If you're getting spark and fuel, it would have to be a timing issue. Can you confirm your getting fuel and spark? You've done so much work to it, it's hard to say where to start. Are you sure you've got the plug wires on right? Did you change the timing belt, those have been known to go bad. Have you done a compression test to make sure the engine has good compression on all four cylinders??
