I'm considering pulling the Force 85 off my '88 Bayliner Capri to make it easier to paint the boat. I have the electrical disconnected, I have the throttle disconnected, and I have the gas tank disconnected. But I can't figure out how to get the steering cable disconnected through the pivot tube. There is no tilt or trim on this boat. If anybody knows how to do this and would share, you sure would help us.

You should be able to slide the motor over as far as the transom allows. There should be enough slack in the steering cable to pull it out. Do not force it though, you can kink the cable and be stuck with buying a new one.
A jack, a friend and some beer could be used to help. You may have to get creative. My 2 cents

The above post just about says it all. I used a come-a-long hooked to rafters in the garage.

If moving the motor all the way to the side still isn't enough, you'll have to swing it to get free. A cherry picker (engine hoist) works real well.
