The external wiring harness from the control box plugs straight into the engine's harness. Just wiggle the plug from side-to-side as you're pulling straight out.
Be sure to carefully align the harness when plugging-in, otherwise it's possible to bend the pins on the motor harness.
With the plug disconnected, you can check out the pins on the motor side to make sure they're all nice and straight. If they're a bit off, re-align with a set of needle-nose pliers, but use caution 'cause they can be broken if you reef on them too much.
A thin coating of grease on the sides of the external harness, where it'll contact the motor harness, will help with the plugging/unplugging.
