Hey folks getting rebuilt engine for my boat but I need a new Carburator one reason being support for Sparkarrestor broke so I can not attach a spark arrestor other reason I would like a upgrade if possable. Ill attach some pics with post.
1st question:
Can I put a four barrel carb on this boat?
I am getting a 305 engine put back in will a 4 barrel be two much for it OR would it even make a difference? Here is pic of my carb now.

If it was me I would have the carb on it rebuilt. I just had mine done a few months back by Fly fishing carbs out of florida. They did a great job and painted it also. The only thing I had todo was adjust the idle once I put it on.

Would a rebuilt come with stud holder for spark arrestor because the one on this if you can see is broken off so i have to use wire to hold spark arrestor on.

Did you get an answer re: replacing with a 4-barrel carb? I have the same engine (2001 5.0GL PEFS) and was wondering if a carb upgrade was a good idea. Going to from the 2-bbl to a 4-bbl?

Anyone tried this... or does Don or Bt Doctur have any thoughts?
Thanks!

Please don't reply to old threads. If you have a question about your engine, ask it in a new thread of your own, not by bringing up old threads. The original poster has not been back since this thread.
