Re: no spark!!

There are so many things that could cause a no spark condition. Best thing to do is to get a Clymer manual and start troubleshooting step by step. Could be kill switch, main fuse, circuit breaker?
Good luck

There are several things that can cause a no spark condition... What have you checked?? What about spark at the coil?? Do you have power to the coil?? If so, do you have dwell?? This is where I start for a no spark diagnoses.

First look at the flywheel and see if the magnet has come loose. Then the flywheel key might have sheared.Kill switch?? Is it on all the way?
Then get a manual and do a stator test.

MLP your giving good advice for an older inboard/outboard or an older car. These aren't set up this way. This is like an electronic ign.J

Re: no spark!!

I had the same problem with my 89 85. I checked everything and could not find the problem. Since it is an 89 I decided to replace the trigger, stator, coil packs and cdi boxes and nothing worked. I finally got fed up and took it to a Force tech and he could not figure it out so he put all the old stuff back on and got it running. He charged me $650 and he still did not now what was the problem. Like everyone said, get the manual, check all the components individually and see what happens.
