DT 40 wont run

Ok i just picked up a 16ft jon boat with a 1980's era suzuki dt 40, i put it in the lake today and fired it up. it ran fine, i ran it for over a half hour, i took it back to the launch were i waited for about 20 min and talked to a friend. then we started it up and headed back out when it died and could not restart it. sparying a small amount of stating fluid in it it would fire and then die. when i do that and disconect the fuel line from the carb i see fuel comming out, and i have fire snice it will fire with the starting fluid. anyone have any ideas?

Welcome to iboats ...... clean carbs, use fresh fuel and make sure you have enough ventilation at the tank, sounds like you sucked in some crud, or could be water in the fuel ....
