Does the hot water heater have to be on to get water pressure. I took the pump out and it appears to have the correct water flow. Or could the hot water tank have lime deposits.

Ahh something I might know, instantaneous hot water heaters do tend to lime up after a while if you are not using soft water. You may need to pump a De Liming solution (per the water heaters mfg direction) through the heater.

If it is a suburban, they are not too hard to maintain, except where they have been installed then it can be a real problem

On most boats there are 2 circuits, hot and cold.
Don't expect lot's of water preasure from that little pump.
Try cleaning all the filter's and faucet screens.

There is 2 circuits . The pump is putting out around 2.5 gpm and is rated at 3.2 . There is not enough water to take a shower just a dribble.

Just on the inlet side of our pump is a filter, pull it out and clean it or replace it. As well make sure the tank is not making a vacum due to a plugged up breather.

+1. At 2.5-3 gpm you won't get the force of your home shower, but you'll have adequate pressure for rinsing. Certainly much more than a dribble. Agree you have a blockage or venting problem in the system.

+1 on cleaning the filter. I had the same problem and the filter was just clogged, cleaned it and wow much better!

That is more than enough GPM for a shower. What you're missing is pressure. You're clogged up somewhere.

Did you ever get this problem solved, I have the same issue, and I know of at least one other person with it as well. I have water pressure in the galley, but not in the head. Hot water only is the problem.
