Hey guys quick ? I have some products left over from last year and looking to do some cleaning on my boat.

My boat is a white boat with a red dulling strip down the side.

What I have 3m rubbing compound and finesse it II I was also going to pick up some 3M Marine Fiberglass Restorer and Wax today.

What steps should I do this in? Also Im only planning on compounding the red strips on the side after I hit it with the magic eraser to see how it comes out.

I need to ask you where the product was stored over the winter. Was it out in the garage or in the house? In the garage it was likely frozen and I would be leary of using it.

As for the order of and the what to use, afraid I can't help you out there. My boat has no oxidization on it so I just hit it with the buffer and some 3M finessit and then give it a good waxing with 3M marine wax.

Good luck

I can tell you what I used. Meguiers(sp) Fine cut, then I used the 3M restorer wax over top, then a fiberglass wax over top of that. I used a high speed polisher with the first 2. Then a orbital waxer for the 3rd.

It worked awesome. My boat was so faded that even the detailers told me there was no hope. I went to harbor freight and picked up the polisher, allready had the orbital. Went to town. Took the better part of a day, but it was worth it.

I use Meguiars Fiberglass Restoration System kit

A specialized three-step system developed to restore the original look of faded or damaged fiberglass gel coat surfaces.

1. No. 49 Oxidation Remover will remove oxidation, stains, and scratches.

2. No. 45 Polish will restore brilliant gloss to the finish.

3. No. 56 Pure Wax will provide long-lasting, durable protection to the restored surface.
