I was offered a free boat so long as I took over the slip fee's for the boat in these pics. Seems like a good deal but I wanted to do some general research on the model but the only thing the current owner could tell me was it is a 1978 Chris Craft 32' cabin cruiser. I am trying to find other 1978 CC boats that looks similar but cant for the life of me find anything that looks exactly like this one. The original owner passed away and his family knows nothing about boats. Is this a Catalina, Commander or what? Any help is much appreciated.

I am not quite sure. If you can find the hull ID I would then check out Chris Craft

Hull ID should be on the registration, for california boats - that is one sweet boat :)

Yah, if no one knows what model it is I will have to get the hull ID for sure. I was just hoping to get some more info before going to inspect the boat this weekend. Generally I am pretty good about doing my own internet research (since I do it everyday for work anyway) but for some reason this does not appear to be a very common model.

Fingers crossed!

Not exactly sure, the HID would tell you in a heart beat, but I believe it is the Commander.

Not sure of the model, but I am REASONABLY sure it is older than 1978.

hmmm, good point. I was starting to wonder about the year myself. Thanks, I will look around for older models a bit as well!

Thats a wooden Bullnose Chris Craft. Possibly a Constellation? My guess on the year would be in the late 50s to mid 60s?

As far as this being a good deal, I think that depends on it's true condition. Structure, Mechanical, Electrical etc... Wood boats are NOT like fiberglass boats. You don't just store them, unwrap them and launch them. A wood boat of that size will require a bit of work, every year.

Definitely not 78...to me it looks like a 59. (Maybe very early 60's)I believe its a Commander or Constellation. I'm not sure if they made Corinthians then.
