Hey, I just bought a 1985 Nissan NS40C and when I put it under a load on my boat it starts missing. It has new plugs so I am assuming it is the coil pack. Any comments on if thats it or if it is something different and if thats what it is can someone help me find where to get a new one? Any help will be appreciated thanks!! Ill ad the motor starts right up with no problem idles great and revs up in neutral fine.

Re: Nissan HELP!!

Start with a Factory service manual, available at any Tohatsu/Nissan dealer, and do a proper diagnosis.

Re: Nissan HELP!!

I worked on my friends 30hp Nissan last year which I believe was around a 1987. It ended up being the carb. There are circuits that go from the fuel bowl to the top of the venturi then down to the mid- forward section of the venturi. That circuit was all blocked up with crud. I actually had to boill the carb in water (odd trick I learned as a last resort) to get it to clear out.

His had the same symptoms you are describing. I believe that fuel circuit was for low - mid range. The main jet was also partially blocked.
