Hello guys,

I need/want to replace the bellows and gimbal bearing. I have a puller and toold that most mechanics have, my question is: Do i have to buy all the mercruiser tools or I can get away with just some regular tools? What is a must have?

Thanks in advance for your answers.

Some claim that they can get the new bellows on without the proper tool...but I don't see how they can do this.

An alignment tool is also a 'must have'!

Happy boating!

Driveshaft bellows goes on without any special tools, exhaust bellows requires a tool. I've done it once without it, but won't do it again.

So the Bellow tool is a must, other than that I should be ok right?

Thanks.

Alighment tool is a cheap insurance that your coupling will last longer.

Do a search, but I saw a thread recently about someone who made his own bellow tool and it seemed to work pretty well.

Ayuh,... The Alignment Bar is a "Must Have" tool...
Go with the exhaust Tube,+ you won't need the bellows expander...
