Hello,
I'm new to boating as well as this forum. Did a quick search for the answer to my question but didn't find much. I have a '94 Bayliner 1950 Capri bowrider with a Mercruiser 3.0L Alpha One motor, both in excellent condition. However, while out on the lake yesterday I made a hard right turn at 3/4 throttle and I felt something in the steering let go.
Now I can only turn left with the steering wheel. I can easily push the motor by hand to steer in either direction (which is how I got back to the ramp). Any ideas on:
1. What broke
2. How to fix
3. Approximate costs involved
Any help would be appreciated. I can send pictures if needed.
Thanks,
Scott
