Sims super v 1600 jet boat

I HAVE RECENTLY PURCHASED A SIMS SUPER V 1600 JETBOAT. iTS A 1600 CROSSFLOW ENGINE, THE ENGINE IS NOT FITTED TO THE BOAT, I HAVE GOT THE ENGINE, THE BELL HOUSING, A FLY WHEEL, A SHAFT AND IMPELLERS AND ASSORTED OTHER PARTS. I HAVE NEVER SEEN ALL THESE PARTS ASSEMBELD. DOES ANYONE HAVE THE SAME SET UP WITH THESE PARTS INSTALLED AND ARE WILLING TO TAKE PHOTOS SO I CAN SEE THE SET UP, OR HAVE A MANUAL ON HOW TO DO IT????

Welcome to iboats! First step should be to figure out what the make of your jet drive is. Then, go to manufacturer website, or Google schematics on how it's put together. I think Hamilton makes the jet for your boat, not sure. Also, try to avoid caps if you can, you're likely to get more responses to your questions.

I've got one of these all set up and worked great until a cat tore a hole in the cover and it filled up with water over winter. Got the engine running again but it's really lumpy. Just about replaced everything except the carb so thats my next job. If you want photos let me know what you want and I'll take them of mine.

Any pictures of the internal workings of the simms super v jet boat would be of HUGE help as i am now tackling this on my own as the mechanic friend who stripped the boat and new its workings has killed himself! i fear without any help i'll be going the same way soon!! lol Anyway hope someone's willing to help, many thanks.

Looks a lot like a sidewinder. Mine was a 455 olds connected to a berkley.

thanks for posting that, its very helpful (beautifully finished!) but would be great to see a standard one and plenty of photos of the engine bay as mine currently looks like this, anybody kept theirs standard?
