Picked it up last week. 1994 Rinker 180 with a merc 3.0. Spent the weekend cleaning the carpets (which thankfully look new now), motor (also look new again) and a bit of gel-coat correction (much more of this to come- should get the 3M restorer/wax later today). Still need to fix the speedometer.

I'm also rebuilding the front and driver side bow seat back pads - the wood was completely rotten. Luckily the vinyl is in good shape. Btw- if anyone has tips on how to reconnect these after I?ve got them finished, I?d love the input. They appear to have been held in place by two large screws- but I?m not sure how they got them in there. Almost looks like they just made the hole in the wood slightly smaller than the screw head and pushed it through.

A beauty! Nice job... I just bought one last week too, pick up on Wednesday. An older tri-hull, Steury. Really looking forward for 3 days of boating in Northern Michigan this week.

Beautiful rig! I also liked your home and the nice slab of concrete to wash cars, boats, etc. on.
Looks like a fun weekend coming up!!:)

Good looking boat! My 1st boat was a Rinker 206 and I loved it.

Thanks all. I'll be getting plenty of use out of it in the next couple weeks. I'll be hauling it to it's new home in NE MI.

Hoping to get everything fixed and cleaned up before we head out. I've got a custom snap cover being made next week- so that should keep things nice and dry.

Thanks. I like your boats color combo. I got it, for what I think, is a steal at $5000. It's got a new motor due to a cracked block from improper winterization. With the exception of the two interior seatback pads I'm re-doing, the interior is in great shape.

BTW- The 3M restorer/wax I ordered arrived yesterday so I spent some time last night polishing. It's amazing stuff. As I mentioned in an earlier thread, I spent time this weekend using good auto polish products borrowed from a from a friend- with a good polisher. This stuff did more -with less effort- than all other products I'd been testing. I did a fairly quick pass on most of the side surfaces - they now have a nice shine - rather than the flat dull flat look they had before. I've very happy with the results given I only spent about an hour on it. More to come.

I was going to say I like the red scheme on yours. Let me know how the 3m works after your all done, I plan on using it also. Do you have to wax again over the top of the 3m with something else? 5k is what I payed for mine to.

What's wrong with your speedo?

Mine has had constant issues from the stuff in the Delaware River. Always clogging up the hole in the outdrive. A little patience and a few various sized nails usually gets it cleared.

Luckily speedos are pretty much totally unnecessary on a boat. Nice to have, but not needed.

Nice looking boat! :)

My speedo is very slow to report the boats speed. It ultimatly reports a farily accurate speed- but takes a while. I expect it's clogged somewhere along the line. My plan is to blow air through the tube from the speedo. I really don't know where the pickup is, so I figure/hope this will work.

If I knew where to look, I'd try the nail approach you use.
