tohatsu 50D problems

Hi all , good day to you, does anyone have an idea why a perfectly good running motor ,dies intermittently and will not start or even fire right after it dies. I serviced carbs ,pump,lines etc. Starts when it wants to and runs perfect when running,could it be the cdi unit .1996 model low hours.Has run perfect last few years ,never let me down till now.???

Nope, not the CDi, check your reed valves (",)

Could well be an ignition problem. Using your factory service manual, diagnose the ignition system to rule it out. Reeds are never intermittent.

Thanks for the info and help Guys ,it turned out to be a loose ground connection under cdi box behind the plastic cover. Happy boating !!
