hey everyone i am new to the site and new to boating
i recently bought me and my kids a good running boat for around 700 bucks its a 85 laser bass boat with an 85hp force motor we do alot of fishing and this is a great boat for just that we love it but since being out on the water my oldest daughter (6yrs old) is wanting to try being pulled in a tube well me not knowing much about these boats didnt know if its possible to maybe get some sort of pole that will mount to the back deck or what or if i can make one that will mount will it be okay?

i dont know if this boat is made with some sort of place that you can hook a rope to and be able to pull ppl or not all i see is where my straps go to keep the boat firm on my trailer and they look to me a little to close to the motor so here i am asking for a little help in this area if anyone can offer me some helpful advice i would much greatly appresitate it

i have added a pic of my boat also

1st resize your pics. you should have a tow eye on each side of the transom, just make a harness to go between them. that is all we did before these expensive poles, and what i still do today.

Just something to think about with that bass boat. The max persons is probably 3? which sucks but just pick people up from the shore or a another boat to tube .

And just use the tow eyelets or mount a ski ring high on your transom to get the rope a little farther out of the water.

They make ski tripods (or you could make your own) that mount to the back deck. Problem is that pulling a tube can put a HUGE load on them and rip them right out of your deck. Every tripod I've ever seen has a warning against pulling tubes.

Safest bet for pulling a tube is to use the tie-down rings on the transom of your boat with a Y-harness between them, like the one at the link below. The tube hooks to the Y-harness:

don't put a tripod on a bass boat. Just use the rings and harness.

well thanks for all your advise on this it really helped i think ill go with the transom and Y harness

but first i now have to buy a new frickin motor now new this boat was to good to be true lol

the guy i bought it from had disconected the alarm and my water pump quite working on me and i guess caused the motor to over heat melted some wires and so i took it into the shop n had a compression test done on it and it wasnt good the shop said i was holding pressure at 110 on all 3 cilinders and it caused the head to bore out more or something like that and warped my pistons he asked if we heard an alarm sound to tell us to shut it down n we heard nothing at all so he chkd the alarm and sure thing it wasnt even hooked up so looks like im not going on the water till this time next year when my tax money comes in and i can afford to get a new motor

Sorry to hear that.

when you get that puppy runnin' and ready to tow a tube- tie off to the stearn eyelets(where you hook transom straps) -you want to tow tubes low as possible.
