is this flush plug?

recently acquired 2003 evinrude 250hp. am not sure about this plug in the back of cowling. kinda figured it might be a flushing hook up, but not sure how to use it. should it be removed? is there another attachment i need to use it? thanks for any info you might have and help

My '98 Johnny V6 has a removeable plug on the rear of the cowling. A garden hose can fit the threads for flushing. OMC (actually BRP) sells a quick connect that scres into the port for flushing. You may also use a conventional flusher device on the water intakes.

My Yammy has a hose connection to flush the engine, but I understand NOT to run the engine while doing it that way.:eek: Check on what you're allowed to do on your motor before running it with only the hose connector flushing it.

There's a fitting that goes on the hose so you can quickly hook up the hose. The whole thing is like an air hose quick connect, only larger.
