just wondering as the new owner of a beautufully restored 1990 VIP 24' with an OMC 5.7 liter cobra. I have read and re-read this famous article

but just not sure if that cable is on my boat or not... seems like if it were an 85 it would be for sure but 1990 seems to be the in between year. There is a lil sloppiness in the throttle and shifting. Just curious if any old schoolers could answer.
