How long should I allow to remove the outdrive on a 1993 OMC Cobra 5.0? Do I need a hoist to remove the outdrive?

Thanks.

Re: Outdrive removal

Took mine off last fall, took 10 to 15 minutes. You can pull it off with your hands, it weighs about 80 to 100 pounds. Might want to build a stand to sit it on after it is off.

Depends how long it has been since it has been off. If your asking it might take a little while longer due to corrosion.

It helps to have another set of hands if you don't have a stand for it. Place something soft under the skegg so if it does drop it won't get damaged.

You were exactly right about it depending on the last time it was done. It took me several hours to get it off. But it looks okay, just rusty.

One thing I learned. Don't do this on a 100+ degree hot sunny day outdoors.
