I have a 1986 a145 volvo penta, the engine starting to run warm on the way to the boat ramp, got home checked raw water pump ,is was ok but the main water pump was leaking cooling out the weep hole. After changing the water pump same problem,I have water hooked to the outdrive but the raw water pump is the pumping,no water coming out the exhaust, took the raw water radiator cap side off ,no psi, never been in salt water.Any thoughts thanks:confused:

Re: Raw water pump

The raw water impeller should be changed ever two years.

You'll have to go through the cooling system and try to figure out whats wrong. I'd start at the hoes fitting on the outdrive right below the ujoint bellows. those fitting corrode in fresh water. Pull the 'S' hose off the fitting and have a look.

Did you pull the cap off the heat exchanger to look for water flow? If you not getting water out the outdrive, it's either not pumping or blocked somewhere.

Let us know what you find.:)

The hose came off underneath the bellow on the out drive, the hose clamp was on and it was up to the 90 % fitting but not pushed on so it was sucking air ......
