175 efi wont start..1995

It was running fine at 3500 rpm, I pulled it back for the no wake zone and it died and would not restart. It has spark to the plugs and fuel to the injector rail but the injectors wont open. Replaced the efi computer but no help. Something is not telling the injectors to open. The plugs are not wet. Any ideas? Thanks

Make sure you have power to the purple wire at the engine when the key is in the on position.

I have 40 psi at the rail. After trying to start it for a couple of minutes, the fuel pressure backs up and blows by the o-rings filling the throttle boat housing and I get a back fire. What is the purple wire at the ignition switch? Check this one for 12 volts? Thanks again

Do you mean VST tank or manifold?

If the fuel pump starts running when you turn key to on the purple wire is ok..

pump works great, the pressure blows the fuel bu the transfer tube o-rings because the injectors wont open, dont know why they wont open. I pulled them out and checked and cleaned the filters. There is no blockage.

Your fuel pressure regulator is bad as it should return all excess fuel and pressure to VST tank and is cylinders 1,3,5 firing?

all cylinders have spark but none have fuel on them

You have lost either the ground to ECU or the connections to injector harness is loose. The ECM gets its signal from cylinders 1,3,5 and if they are fireing ECU should be getting signal. Unplug and reconnect all connections at harness and ECU and retest, it hard to have 2 bad ECUs
