When cleaning my boat I took the motor off and set it on the wall...I quickly learned that it would be a better to lay it down. It fell and hit the ground, then started having problems:

First time out it barely made it to 1/4 speed at full throttle and was sputtering and twitching like crazy. It also broke the sheer pin my the prop.

I put the motor in a bucket, thinking it was carb issues...I pulled the carb and fuel filter and cleaned both with some spray.

Adjusted the crabs until it ran quite smooth.

Back in the water, it ran well, went normal speed, but still twitched every 6-7 second. I went over to a channel with some smoother water so I could feel the motor a little more and it bog down like crazy, twitching and sputtering all over again. I started playing with carb adj again and it would help for a second...rev up...then bog down again.

What could have gotten screwed up when I drop it? Does it still sound like carb issues? It almost sounds like something it in the motor knocking around and holding the motor back...Help!

Coils could be cracked, suspect anything that could have been damaged by the impact, maybe it broke a casting on the magneto plate.
