Hey all

1972 25hp Evinrude:
Went to change the gear oil today and when I unscrewed the lower drain screw it seemed to be pressure loaded?, the milky oil spit back in my face:confused:. Proceeded to drain the oil ( was just like a vanilla milkshake)

there is a darker oil dishcharge from a hole that im not familiar with? I've read it is exhaust/oil burnoff but it seems more excessive than ever before.

where do you think the leak may be? How to combat the repair?

thanx for any help!

Milk shake like lower unit oil = water intrusion. Could be as simple as needing new nylon washers on the drain and vent screws. Could be seals elsewhere have given out. New nylon washers and fill it up, give it a test and check for water intrusion again or get it pressure tested.
Good Luck.
